Standard 6 - Professionalism

Professionalism
Physical education teacher candidates demonstrate dispositions essential to becoming effective professionals.

Reflection: In my time at Brockport I was fortunate enough to be assigned a junior from a Rochester city school and show her around the campus and answer any questions she had. I gave her a tour of the entire campus including buildings that are not involved with physical education. It was a good experience to talk to a student who was not necessarily interested in physical education because in the classroom not everybody is going to be into the lesson and dedicated to the class. It was also nice to talk to a high school student and help educate them on the college system and how things work in it. This experience helped me learn how to be an effective professional when sharing my knowledge and  being responsible for a student.
